And they say the Republican party lacks diversity. This cartoon is about a representative who claims to be prolife but caused his wife and another woman with whom he had relations to have abortions. He is also credited with at least on other mistress. All of this despite his strong support of prolife agendas and Christian values.
Then there’s the republican who won the county commissioner seat in Nevada. He also owns the Mustang Ranch, a legal brothel.
These stories should underscore the fact that the Republicans are NOT the party of family values and Christian ideals. They are another political party made up of fallible people, some of whom vote for these people, and they need to be held to a higher standard, just as do the Dems.

There’s very little evidence that trying to legislate religious morality has ever worked in the long run. It’s just a cynical way to attract voters that has no lasting impact.
Abortion, gay marriage, the death penalty, harsh prison sentences, etc. are more reflective of the secular moral ideals of people than any religious teachings.

Maybe not in the long run. But in the short run, if you grant a bit of leeway in your definition of “legislate” we have the Protestant /Catholic conflicts, the Crusades, the Christians v Lions affairs, etc, etc ad nauseum.

yes you are part right but pushing it like a dope dealer is not helping. I mean tv and music is pushing drug and sex like it was selling it look at some of the kid shows. I know there is free speach but this is gone too far.

agreed. Watch Disney for a couple of hours: all those teen/adolescent shows where there are no adults, and the dancing and songs that introduce pre-pubescents to sex.

I saw the “ready peeled” eggs at a convenience store recently, but didn’t see any ads. I know a person who buys them to put on the salad they buy ready made from a bag at the store. You still have to add some veggies to a salad if you want a good variety, but I don’t buy eggs if I can’t be sure of when they were cooked.
I don’t think its a matter of money as much as it is the convenience of grabbing some “instant protein” when busy.
I have an acquaintance who LOVES pickled eggs. He is horrified at my fondness for crawfish, he gagged when he saw me sucking the juice out of the body and head, but he loves grabbing a few of those eggs out of the jar at the bar. It doesn’t make me gag, but…takes away some of the pleasure of eating my crawdads. :D
    Happy Thanksgiving Dredpiratrobt$.
    Be safe.

Yes, you are right. It is startling to see TV these days. Too far, yes.
