They might be rich now but were millions of dollars in debt when in the Whitehouse.

Ah, but the Republicans are desperate for any taking points they can get.

According to the Republicans being millions in debt is not broke if you get out of debt several years later. And those guys want to run the country??

Actually…the republicans have a point. She was millions of dollars in debt. And then out of it a few years later. In other words she raised millions in a few years. I know people who are struggling to make interest payments on a $45,000 mortgage. So yeah…it is a difference. She’s not regular folks. In fact, I would say she’s probably a 1%er. I myself don’t think that should necessarily be a point against her. But it is interesting the way all the Democrat posters here sort of gloss over the fact because she’s Hillary.

The point is that what Hillary said is factually true, and I don’t think she was trying to portray something she is not. She answered the question is an honest way. What I find strange is why so many are trying to parse her words into something negative. Why try to find fly shit in the pepper? Just go with what she said and get on with something important.

    No they weren’t.

The Clintons had an Adjusted Gross Income of $416K their final year in office.

    Clinton’s 1999 Tax Return

Clinton’s Legal Defense Fund raised more than $4.5 million in 1999.

Washington Post, 2/25/99: Clinton Defense Fund Grows

The trustees of President Clinton’s legal defense fund said yesterday that they have raised more than $4.5 million to help pay his legal bills and may eventually be able to cover most of the cost of the president’s legal defense in the Whitewater investigation, the Paula Jones sexual harassment lawsuit and Congress’s impeachment inquiry and trial…

“I think it’s reachable,” said Anthony F. Essayea, New York lawyer who is a trustee and the executive director of the Clinton Legal Expense Trust when asked if donations to the trust will be enough to cover all of Clinton’s legal bills.

And Hillary got an $8 million advance on her book deal before they left office.

    NYTimes 12/2000: Archives
Hillary Clinton Book Advance, $8 Million, Is Near Record

All that was before they left office.

Since leaving office they made $109 million from 2000 through 2008. This included a $15 million advance— the highest in history— for Mr. Clinton’s 2004 autobiography, but doesn’t include Hillary’s $13 million advance for her latest book.

When you look up the definition of Limousine Liberal, their picture pops up.

Private life stuff, sex lives, looking young, looking rich-but-not-too-rich…if we asked less shallow bullsh*t from our politicians, maybe they could focus more on the country.
