I’m a dual national. I think it was Australia that disallowed the dual nationality since I know a few dual national Americans. Austria has a similar law that if one of its nationals takes up another nationality through naturalisation, it forfeits the Austrian one (if someone has the right to one of more other nationalities at birth, it allows multiple nationalities; my daughter has 4 including Austrian). However, one of my schoolmates, who moved to Australia, told me his son has 3 nationalities. I’m not sure if he himself has retained his British & South African nationalities when he acquired the Australian.
