I don’t like attachments (or videos) either, unless I’m expecting them. I delete them also, but all of these people are typical for many these days – they think they’re the exception and they’re so special! :-P

Good morning, Cathy clan!! I missed you all! Just got back yesterday. Rome was incredible and amazing with all of the history and culture there. Wow! And then we went to Madrid for my husband’s sister’s wedding. Very nice to hang out with his family and meet all the new babies. Awesome trip!
(I’ll have to go back and read the past 2 weeks of comics and comments, so I’m sure I’ll be back later. :-))

Now it’s not just attachments but links to you tube videos and no one EVER tells you how long it is. It’s one of my pet peeves. I want to know what it’s about and how much of my time it will take to watch it. As for your trip lightenup, it sounds like a trip you’ll never forget. How awesome to visit Rome and Madrid. It must’ve been especially great at this time of year.

Now we get all that on facebook instead of email. I remember telling more than one person to stop sending me the junk I couldn’t relate to anyway. The other problem was that the attachments may have had viruses in them. I’m surprised that her company doesn’t have some sort of personal email policy, like, “don’t do it!” lol

Now I’m jealous — it’s been almost 6 1/2 years since I was last in Rome, and I’ve been dying to go back!

I might forward something funny to one or two people who I think will especially like it for whatever reason, and I’ll always say, “I don’t usually forward things, but this one made me think of you!” Other than that, I don’t want to bother people!
    Welcome back, lightenup !

Apparently that company doesn’t have a policy in place against sending each other junk e-mail on company time (either that, or they do and the employees are just ignoring it) so I’d either go to Mr. Pinkley and complain or, if he won’t do anything about it, then I’d go to H.R. and put a stop to it that way. Until then, just delete, delete, delete!!!!! Don’t people get enough of that nonsense in their PERSONAL e-mail without having to get it in their BUSINESS e-mail too (assuming,of course, that they DON’T, which is what Cathy IS saying)?!? People can be so completely clueless sometimes. Even when you come straight out and tell them something to their face in NO uncertain terms, they still just don’t “get it.” So frustrating whenever that happens!!!!! :-(

    Hi, rgcviper!

lightenup: Hey, soul sister, I’ve MISSED you! While I’m glad to hear you had a wonderful time in Rome and Madrid (I’ve never been to either place so I’m VERY jealous of you b/t/w!!!), I’m really glad you’re officially back with us now all the same!!!!! ;-)

Hello and Happy Wednesday, fellow “Cathy” clan. Hope everyone’s having a really great day today!

So glad you had a good time lightenup!! I’ve always wanted to visit Rome and we had a chance this year to cruise with Prairie Home Companion, but it sold out so fast we missed the boat (so to speak). It sounds like your trip was a total success — and how wonderful for the kiddies!!

Hi everyone (long-time regulars and new friends too)!! It’s been a long day with laundry, cleaning and grocery shopping. Back to reality with a THUD. ;-)

THANK YOU to all for your kind wishes and messages! I just read through the past 2 weeks and everyone’s comments sure made me smile, whether directed at me or not. We sure have a great community here in Cathy’s Corner! Love you all!

We did a lot in Rome – the Colosseum, ancient ruins, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, the Vatican, National Museum of Rome, Priscilla catacombs, Ostia Antica, Gallery Borghese, and of course wandering around and a little shopping. The girls were troopers and kept up with all the walking, but of course the constant eating of pizza, pasta and lots of gelato helped keep their energy up! :-) It also helped that Jr loves mythology and knows more Greek and Roman gods than I do, so she wasn’t too bored in the museums because there was a lot about the gods and goddesses. And we also saw an urn that supposedly has pieces from Jesus’ manger, which is one of the things they still talk about.

One funny incident was at a church where they have a stone disc on a wall called the Mouth of Truth. Rumor has it that if you put your hand in the mouth, it will bite off your hand if you lie. Well, Lil does have a tendency to make up stories sometimes so we’ve been teasing her about it. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, we finally got up to it and she was too scared to put her hand in. We had a good laugh about it and we bought her a small replica in the gift shop, “just in case” she tells any whoppers in the future. LOL!

Madrid was nice too. We stayed in a hotel near the Plaza Mayor, where the wedding was, so we were able to walk most everywhere there too. After this trip, I feel safe to say that my kids are now able to handle being in a city. We took every type of public transportation, crossed many streets with cars and motorcycles whizzing everywhere and was subjected to lots of begging and street entertainment (intentional or not). Fortunately, European drivers are more respectful of pedestrians than American ones.
We mostly visited with family and friends there, which Lil seemed to enjoy more than the sights of Rome (she’s so much more social than Jr :-)).
Sorry for the long post, but I thought I’d list what we did in case anyone was interested and I waited until the end of the day so everyone wouldn’t have to read it. Hugs to all – glad to be back in the comics, although I do miss some parts of my trip. :-)

I could swear I said exactly this recently, but I couldn’t find it.

Go ahead and slap her, Cathy. You know you want to.

Welcome back, lightenup. HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.

I missed you too, sis!!! Thank you for your sweet wishes while I was gone! You’re so wonderful and thoughtful!! HUGS!!!

I hope you are able to go to Rome and/or Madrid one day! I’d recommend Rome first, although if you went to Madrid, I know plenty of people who would take good care of you! And maybe I’d even meet you there! We would have so much fun!
