Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

I ALWAYS consulted the owner’s manual whenever I programmed my VCR to record.

Fixes:
1. remove the paper from the printer and clear the paper jam
2. get better cell phone service
3. either get a replacement if the warrenty is still good, or take to a repair shop and get the door fixed.
4. recharge the battery
5. watch youtube tutorial videos and learn how to use the camcorder that way.
6. learn to keep your remotes in the same place all the time.
7. learn to keep the stylus with the PDA and recharge the battery.
Electronics don’t have to be icks if the USER learns some common sense.

A Sunday strip—woo hoo! (I had to click on the link reading “Cathy” to view it, but still.)
I can relate all too well to this one. Technology’s great when it works and I can figure it out, but otherwise …
For the heck of it, i just did a Google search for “Aaron profile GoComics” and for “Billy profile GoComics”, in the hopes of tracking down our friends. The “Billy” one didn’t result in anything, but the “Aaron” one led me to a profile of someone named Aaron—with a total of five comments. Therefore, I’m not sure if Aaron’s original profile is even still online. Strange.
I really hope we hear something from the guys soon. I miss them.
HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, nutty “Cathy” Clan.

@crystalwizard
One of my dogs ate an $84 (replacement cost) remote control. Good thing we could change the channel by jingling a handful of change, before the tube played out about 3 months later.

Hey rgcviper… Their profiles are still online. They just still have their Halloween nicknames (Billy Eye-gor and FrankenAaronStein), which makes me sad. This all just seems like something unexpected and terrible happened. :-(
I miss you guys!

Hi other Cathyites!! Having gotten up on Friday morning to a deader than dead iphone, I can really relate. It wouldn’t charge, and nothing worked. Finally after making an appt for 2 days later to take it in, we called another istore and they said to push BOTH buttons and hold them, and it lit up. No problems since — anybody else heard of this?

It’s funny how quickly things become dated in the tech world. 30 GB HD’s? 1.6 MP cameras? PDAs?

You do realize that Cathy is in reruns, right?
Cathy is using an early version of Palm PDA, as shown in the pictures of her device and the fact that she needs to write using the special alphabet for it. Cathy is using a VCR, not a DVD recorder or a DVR. There was no Youtube then. The only smartphone was, maybe, as I am not sure of the year, a Blackberry. I am not even sure that there was gocomics or Ucomics then.
I have recently had a reminder of how different life was around 2000. In 2011 my husband convinced me to let him build me a new computer. The one I was using was his old one which originally ran Windows Me (updated after I started using it to XP). It has been sitting on a typewriter table next to my desk waiting to be backed up and have a couple of folders copied to my current computer ever since (over 2 years). I never noticed it being slow, but it was so slow booting, etc. that I thought it was crashing. Oddly the reason he convinced me to get rid of it was that it always took 3 attempts to get it to boot, and this time it booted on the first try.
