Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

As we get older, it’s harder to get used to new technology. When I was at my mom’s, we got her an iPad (her decision). I hope I don’t get too many frustrated calls in the next few weeks. Fortunately Apple makes their products pretty intuitive.
Happy (belated) New Year, Cathy family!! I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in a while, but as you guessed, I was traveling and it was so busy that I didn’t have time to do anything until night, but the computer was in the same room where the kids were sleeping.
I have an update (sorta) on Aaron & Billy. Unfortunately I was not able to go downtown by myself (too much going on, one car, etc), so I did not go to the fire station as planned. So, I called them and explained the situation as best as I could. The person who answered the phone was nice and polite and listened to me, but unfortunately he didn’t know of an Aaron who was a fire fighter.
Although I told him several times that he didn’t need to tell me any personal information, I’m hoping that they tell this to anyone calling about a specific firefighter and that somehow the message will get through. Either way, it seems that we are back to where we were before, not knowing and just waiting…. I’m sorry… :-(

Welcome back! Other than that little disappointment, I hope you had a good trip. Thank you for trying.

This is the point at which you return the phone and buy something that you can just plug into the wall and expect it to work. Yes, phones like that still exist.

Hi, lightenup, and welcome back! Hope you had a nice visit with your mom.
Thanks for trying to find our dear friends, Aaron and Dr. Billy! It’s been 11 weeks ago today since their last post and I’m so worried about them! I sure wish your investigation had panned out but since it didn’t, I guess we’ve got no choice but to (impatiently) wait for them to come back to us again someday . . . which will hopefully be soon!
I think I remember Dr. Billy saying that his mom likes and reads the “Cathy” comic but I’m guessing she doesn’t do it here because if she did — and she reads our daily comments because they’ve told her all about us, I’m sure — then she’d know how worried we all are that they’ve been gone for so long without a word and SURELY she would have put our minds at ease regarding their whereabouts long before now. I guess now we’re just going to have to wait because that’s all we CAN do.
Thanks again for doing everything you did while you were gone. Happy New Year!!!!!

Your dad gave up, too, Cathy — that’s why he drove to a pay phone to call a 1-800 hotline number to get technical help for their new cordless (phone) because your so-called “help” was nothing but a dismal and frustrating failure!!!!!
Hi, rgcviper!!!!!
Hello to all my “Cathy” friends! It’s been a busy week so I haven’t been able to be online since Monday. Nice to “see” you all again!!!!!

They didn’t have another phone in the house, with a cord, for him to use to help set up the cordless one? [Eye-roll …]
@lightenup
Thanks for the update on Aaron & Billy. I, too, hope we hear from them, or about them, soon, since it’s been so long since they posted.
HI, MOM! Happy Friday, “Cathy” Clan.

Hi Cathyites!! Poor Cathy’s Dad — I hope he gets the help he needs. I still prefer the land line — today I had to wait in terminal “hold” patterns to talk to the SS office and I was glad I had the receiver to cradle while I did other things. Doesn’t work as well with the cell phone.
Thanx for your efforts lightenup — too bad our guys were not “findable.” We all miss them and hope that nothing drastic happened to stop them from communicating. I’m glad you had an otherwise happy and productive trip.
