Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Good Morning fellow Cathy nuts…can’t sleep so I’m roaming, not good I have a dentist appointment in the morning!! By the way men are never predictable, no matter how well you think you know them.

When this was written, hair-free was odd. Now it’s a good look to wear. But, I must say not on Irving.

WoW! I’m with Cathy. The perfect Aack!
My turn at the dentist today, semi-annual checkup and cleaning. Tomorrow late morning is my annual MD/CMT checkup. Then if I’m a good boy, I can have lunch with Dr Billy. For now . . . to sleep.

I can never understand this fashion for men to shave it all off – it’ll happen naturally, far too soon, for most of them!
I like hair to grow and move and look interesting. Male as well as female!

@FrankenAaronStein
Good luck with all the check-ups. Have a good lunch to celebrate afterwards!

Hahaha!! Irving looks ridiculous and the bandage on his head only proves it. Cathy is better off going by herself…
A few guys look okay with the shaved head look, but I think the trend is passé. And now I think it only makes the guy look older because only guys that are sensitive about losing their hair do it and most don’t look good totally bald. A good trim where it is nicely kempt makes men (and really anyone) look best.
Good morning, mollie, summerdog, Susan, Aaron, ncalifgirl and AnonaMona!
Good luck with all of the checkups, Aaron!

I don’t think the “bald” look was ever in. It generifies all men into the same clone-chrome-dome look. Can you men imagine all women sporting the same short brown bob haircut?
Anona Mouse said, 10 months ago
Definitely not, Terri! Individuality makes life so much more fun, and interesting. Besides – just think how much extra work is involved in shaving, if you have to do it all over every day or two.
And you can’t easily run your fingers through a billiard ball, can you? It wouldn’t feel the same at all.

Hello lightenup! Thanks for including me! And hello to the rest of the Cathy nuts! I agree that a select few men look good bald, Irving is not one of them. Morris Chestnut is. :-)

Free of his hair, free of his brains. Aack! I’m right there with you Cathy. I keep mine neatly trimmed with Aaron’s help, making less trips to the barber. He, on the other hand, let his grow out all summer. He cried in the barber chair last week when he had to get regulation again. If you click his avatar, it was about exactly like that.
LMB and I are just hanging out at home tonight. Hot day near 100 tomorrow according to the forecast so I’ll play hockey after work.
Hi mom!

Don’t count your chickens, Cathy.
And, @Susan … I love the idea of the disco ball.
I’ll also add my own personal AACK, along with the ever-classic eye-roll.

Hi Cathyites!! One word — Aack!!! Bald comes soon enough on its own. Hope everyone had a great holiday!! Also glad to see Aaron is back to work and enjoying it. We went to a beautiful Folk Festival in Geneva, Illinois over the weekend — Fox Valley Folk Festival. It was wonderful (great music, egrets & herons everywhere you look in the river, beautiful scenery) — but a little too hot. I hope cooler weather is on its way soon.
