Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

And when are they going to be home long enough to even have company over?

And will they even survive the honeymoon trip?
Good morning, Aaron (and LWB), Drs. Billy and KFG, Lightenup. Legaleagle, GsMom, and the rest of the “Cathy”-ologists.

Their closest company will probably eat off of paper plates around a campfire. Cathy could buy them a picnic basket and toss in some bottles of wine. They might use that.

A windglider, a snowboard and a canoe are not practical. It’s just indulging in the couple’s hobbies. Practical is a set of pans. Personally, I would rather have something that I can look at and remember the people who gave it to us with love. Technically, you can do that with a snowboard, but it’s not the same.
Good morning legaleagle, Susan and Aaron!
Hello to GsMom, KFG, Billy, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, gmforde, soonergal, lippyfish, Mai Tai, Willi Nilli, mollie, AnonaMona, Bronzepony, simpsonfan2, tegm, legaleagle, Shyygirl27, catsarge10, BJIllistrated, ncalifgirl58, Molly mcgee, Teresa and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!
I’m sitting here watching Jr slowly eat her scrambled eggs, which has taken a long time because she doesn’t like eggs. Poor little tortured thing… ;-)
Thank you to all who gave me good wishes for a productive weekend! Yesterday was spent doing errands, so a bunch of time was wasted driving and in lines (especially at the gas station :-( ). Today are going to a party later for someone I haven’t seen in 9 years, so it should be interesting. Now to clean up the house to make it livable…
Have a great Saturday, Cathy Club/Clan/Colony/Congregation/Clutch/ (or whatever you all decide)! :-)

Good morning! I thought it was Cathy nuts. Love the clerks comments. Weddings tend to bring out the worst in us. lol

Except for maybe the $450 DVD player, the rest isn’t that out of line. Not sure I’d ever get that extravagant for a about-to-be-married couple. But of course, in Cathy’s world, life is different.
LMB and I have been out and about doing errands. Friend Aaron came home on time at 6:20-ish after no fires and 4 EMS calls overnight. It didn’t take him long to fall asleep.
Morning fellow Cathyites.
Hi Mom!

Practical and affordable for this couple? Cathy, I’d go with sunscreen, band-aids, and Ben-Gay.
@lightenup : I love scrambled eggs — wish I were there!
Hello, Cathy Clan. I’m happy today because we’ve reached my favorite time of year, the “ber” months! Anyone with me on that?

I love the sunscreen, band-aids, and Ben-Gay!! I too am ready for the “her” months, more than ready to dig out the jeans, boots and jean-jacket…yea!!

Can’t believe those prices – I wouldn’t even consider giving a present to anybody with such extravagant tastes! Fortunately I don’t get invited to weddings any more.
Glad to hear that Aaron is safely home and fast asleep. Hope he has a few more quiet-ish nights while he’s getting used to being back in harness.

Try folding in some crushed bacon bits.
They can really liven up the taste of bland foods.

Give them a check for about a tenth of what it would cost for one of those outrageous things on their “wish” list.
They can use it the way they want.
Lightenup, you’re right. almost anything is better than “cult”.
that’s just what came to mind at the time.
Thankful to see AA has been able to return to work & Dr.B is home to care for both he & LMB.
Everyone have a great Labor Day weekend.

Oh yeeaaaahhhh! Lover the ‘ber’ months and even the ‘ary’ months for skiing and snowboarding. Much rather be bbrrrr than hot and muggy.

Awww poor lightenupjr. Eggs is good eats though. Here’s my favorite way with scrambled: take ’em out of the fridge and let ’em come to room temperature. Beat both separately, but beat the whites a bit longer. Ever so gently fold the yolks into the whites. Cook as usual. Add a couple of sprinkles of cheese. Billy was never much of an egg lover until I made the scrambled eggs very light and fluffy, and with cheese of course.
Off to work (even though it feels like I just got home).
