Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

And then there’s payment 2 to 36, or 48, or 60, or 72. Then selling your soul. Nope, not a good choice Cathy. Two words — “Not interested.” Then they’ll ban you from the dealership.
Morning Susan probably sleeping at this hour. Morning lightenup almost time to rise and shine!
hi mom!
Yeah, Billy and I have had that big ol’ brownie at Texas Roadhouse. We split it because he’d be too hyper from the sugar rush. And the fact that’s also huge!SUSAN NEWMAN

That gas-guzzler is probably as useless to Cathy as all those clothes and shoes she buys at the mall.
Good morning, Aaron (do you EVER sleep???), Billy, Lightenup, KFG, GsMom, gmartin, and the rest of the “Cathy” nuts.

Panel 3 made me snort my morning coffee up my nose. 15 bags, which I guess we’re supposed to assume are fairly newly acquired and returnable for cash vs. exchange. Do stores do that?
Susan yes Aaron does sleep; badly. Mom will make sure he settles down and naps later. Like any good Mom, she knows when he’s having a bad night. In addition to 5:00 a.m., he was also awake after 3:00 a.m. I woke around then too. There was a disturbance in The Force. He must have had a nightmare. :-(
Morning lightenup and family. Hello Cathyites. Hi Mom! Re: Aaron’s pic of the headless kid the other night, I made a promise not to use his head as a soccer ball. I guess I need to show more restraint in my promises. :-D

I think I’m glad I don’t have to make these decisions!
Getting ready now to greet my OH – after seven and a half days of talking to the cats instead of him. Well, no – actually I talk to the cats anyway. But he’s been away and out of phone contact, so it’ll be nice to hear his voice again.
You see, A and B – these separations do come to an end, eventually. Mind you, when he finds out what I’ve spent in his absence . . . the next one might be longer!
;-)No, not really. I haven’t bought a car.

Back safe, and not entirely rusted over.

If Cathy knew she was going to be car shopping, then why did she go to the mall and buy 15 bags worth of new clothes??? Most sensible people know they need to save every penny they can for such a large purchase because of everything that goes along with it . . . such as, YES . . . monthly car payments!!!!! I would like to say that Cathy’s one-of-a-kind right now but I’d be willing to bet on it that there are a whole lot more people like her out there than any of us here know about!
[sigh and an eye roll!!!!!]
HI, AARON & DR. BILLY!!!!!

Oy. Our Cathy is really one in a million, isn’t she?
I guess that’s a good thing, since she provides some good laughs … and even better eye-rolls.
Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend.

I had to come back to this one before I get into bed to read.
Panel 1: Yeah, Billy and I have done that, usually to the shore. Panel 2: Likewise, while in NH along the CT River. Panel 3: I don’t think we have 15 bags of clothes between us, but it depends on what Cathy’s version of a shopping bag is.
Goodnight hendelca and lindz.coop. Hi to serenasakitty and to kittycatpawsare wrapping up the evening.
Okay LMB . . . D O N E ! [enter] So funny.

Hi Cathyites!! I would have been long gone by now — do I really want to know that I can “toss” a canoe on the top of my car?! But then I would never have gone into an SUV dealership to begin with.
Aaron’s nights sound like mine — especially right now when I’m studying for the SW licensing exam. Can’t wait til Monday nite when my summer can start — whether I pass the monster or not. If the comics are renewed the next time I’m awake at 4:00 am, I’ll send you a note Aaron.
