How did a six year old find out about a movie like that??
Try asking on Friday and see what she says.
How did a six year old find out about VCRs?
There were two year olds that could operate a VCR. They watched someone do it. Now, these two year old can run a celphone.
Today’s Random Thoughts
If you saw that movie Calvin, you would indeed get an education.
Young children these days can get an “education” by watching some of the reality TV/sitcoms during the Family (8:00 p.m.) and Prime Time (9:00 – 11:00 p.m.) hours (e.g. “Big Brother,” “Survivor”, “Meet My Folks”, “Two and a Half Men”, “2 Broke Girls”, “Mom”, “American Dad”). Even “Family Feud” has gotten very risqué.
My first “educational” movie was “The Ballad of Cable Hogue” (1970). Stella Stevens was awesome.
Hobbes gets the absolute slam dunk punchline of the strip.
I don’t think this was a real movie, but didn’t someone write a song about it later?
Today’s Custom Comic
I remember renting a VCR and a movie. From the town cinema. The VCR was as thick as a suitcase and weighed a ton.
He’s not old enough for educational movies like sex – ed ( AKA porn )
doctor tongue and the 3D house of stewardesses!
Yes Hobbes, stewardess vixens could teach us a lot.
Very un-PC. Should be “Cannibal Flight-Attendant Vixens Unchained.”
He should have asked for “Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death”. At least that’s a real movie.
I’ve been watching 30 year old reruns of “The $25,000 Pyramid” on GSN and one of the bonus prizes they gave away were VCRs. I remember how much I wanted one back then but they cost about $700.
The book was way better; trust me
What’s a VCR?
Then how about “Zombie Strippers”?
But Mom, it’s rated “G” for Gratuitous.
Back when I was still a young pup we rented a VCR from a video store. As I recall they had a deal where if you rented a VCR and a movie you got a second movie rental free, so I decided to rent one called “Microwave Massacre” as a goof. Needless to say my blushing bride was NOT impressed.
Is this the movie where the VCR eats the tape?
Today’s Calvin Creation
How times have changed. The movie has been remade as “Cannibal Flight Attendant Vixens Unchained” and is available on Netflix.
Siskel and Ebert gave it one thumbs up, one thumbs down.
Anything can be an Educational experience, the question is it Good, Bad or a Mediocre experience!
Calvin’s mom is a knitter! How did I not know that before? And her needles are even drawn right—well done!
The Stewardess was good, it was my 1st 3D, and Soft Porn in one.
Boy, you KNOW these comic strips are dated. VCRs and tapes haven’t been available for at least 10 years.
In the original Calvin demands to stream every remake of Godzilla.
Who here searched for that film on ebay…be honest now!
“I think we’d learn a LOT by watching that.” Indeed.
Adult education hehe.
Can’t be any worse than some of the video games i’ve seen little ones playing.
