She’s working on him. Rome wasn’t built in a day, but he’ll turn out fine. She’s committed.

That’s what mothers are for, and she’ll give it her all.

Speaking of despairing of them, I lived in a deep state of guilt by the time my daughter was pushing three. She was living with me, and two large dogs. I was outnumbered, and she persisted in dumping her food on the highchair tray and licking it off. Helping with her hands, yes, or maybe the spoon, but I wondered how long she would go on doing that. The week she didn’t dump the food at all, my bp dropped about twenty points :-)

I understand Calvin (and Hobbes). I always act like that with a pizza with peperoni.

Look on the bright side Mom, at least it was just toast and not a gazelle.

That Calvin is so lucky, he doesn’t have have to live such a hum-drum life. Secretly I envy the little guy.

The tiger stalks the jellied bread in its native habitat. It SPRINGS!
    .
Ugh! The awful sound of gluten being torn. The SHRIP of bread screaming as tiger claws tear it in pieces.
    .
Oh, the carnage! Grape blood and pieces of finely-ground germ and endosperm all over the walls and floor.
