Now he is ready for the hyper-competitive world of the psychopath whose mantra he now espouses.

apparently, Calvin takes “validation from a higher authority” rather seriously. Life is mostly CalvinBall – Calvin.

Today Calvin feels like roadkill on the road to higher education.

Calvin didn’t win, but Hobbes still finds him to be a very trying person.

A real American this Calvin. Americans love dividing people into winners and losers. Here in Europe it’s a little different. As the good old Pierre De Coubertin said: “the most important thing is not to win but to take part”.

Compare Calvin in panel 2 with Hobbes in panel 3. With his jacket on, Calvin is striped in the middle and plain on the sides. Hobbes is plain in the middle and striped on the sides. This isn’t the only way that Calvin and Hobbes are opposites.
