    not all cultures are respectable. The Amorites or the Incas, for example. Cultures that treat humans like that are not respectable. The Amorites would rape their kids as homage to Baal. The Incas would sacrifice children to terrorize their subject peoples. As did the Mayans and Aztecs. The largest cache of sacrificial victims found was ~250,000 skulls, but there are tens of thousands of smaller sites with dozens to thousands.

    20-30 years of psychobabble later, and Watterson’s obviously tongue-in-cheek commentary has become accepted rationalization and justification. I somehow doubt that that was his intent.

    so, if a kid fails in school, it is the kid’s fault, not the teachers who are not motivated to teach, not the outdated books, not the non-conducive learning environment, not the days taken away for standardized testing, and not the parents’ inattention to their kids.

    @Dha Dha

    Hello Dha Dha, here in Durban, South Africa it is also very hot. 35 centigrade but feels like 39. I’m sure it is much hotter in Thailand; maybe 40 or 45 centigrade? We have a lot of humidity in Durban because we are on the east coast and have the Indian Ocean
