    No, it’s a peer pressure thing. One-on-one, boys and girls tend to get along well and accommodate each other. It’s only within the group mentality that they learn they’re not supposed to like each other, and “go with the flow” in order to achieve acceptance within their group. It’s an attitude that tends to change dramatically with the onset of puberty, and could be an inborn defense mechanism against premature experimentation. (I liked girls too. Still do,)
