    And my domestic cat does the same thing to me when I pet her – she also BITES me – painful bites.

    My old cat likes to sleep on his back,all paws in air.
    When I get a chance I grab a handful of hair ,boy he comes to just a clawing,sometimes I get scratcht or bit before he realizes its me.

    Mine will bite (really, just nips), too, but I tell her “No biting! – kitty kisses!”, so she licks me and we’re both so happy.

    Bites when you pet? Ouch. Is it a “one-person” cat? (When I was a kid, our cat Tom was my brother’s cat and Tom let everyone know it. SCRATCH!)

    My cat never scratched me on purpose. I used to do this to him. He put up with a lot! Once he scratched me accidentally when something scared him and when he saw the marks he stared at me, horrified at what he’d done! He’s been gone for 10 years now and I still miss him.
