Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

There are certain situations when spanking is acceptable…that’s one of them. There’s no way I ever would have gotten away with saying that to my parents. Not at 19, not at 15, and certainly not at 6.

Watterson blew this one.
A six year old character written as a very smart child behaving like a two year old.Not even close to funny.

I don’t know if this strip is current but nowadays they label kids like Calvin with ADHD and medicate them. Going through it with my now 13 year old son, never left the terrible twos but quite intelligent.

Mom is learning that before you rediscover the child within you must deal with the child without:
Calvin.

Your son’s problem is REAL!
The the only reason I can think of that society doesn’t liken treating all those children on ADHD medications to a drugging scandal in a seniors’ residence is they are not all in one place to be seen en masse..
Do I have a solution? No. But there’s got to be a better way.

I don’t know…I’ve seen adult men in their fifties, winners of academic prizes and recognised as giants in their field of endeavour, behave like two-year-olds. One, a highly respected surgeon, literally bouncing up and down yelling “No, no, no, you can’t do that” at his brother (also in his fifties).

Bur did you find this behaviour funny or astonishing in one so accomplished, or sad and/or annoying?

I came across this yesterday. A delivery driver was dropping off samples to us in pathology. He answered his bleeper. It was a doctor wanting bloods he had just taken. The driver suggested the doctor put the samples in the blood that would take them directly to haematology. At this we could hear the doctor having hysterics demanding the driver diverted the 2 miles to do as he wanted rather than used the chute that was 20 feet away. Sounded like the doc was jumping up and down with a purple face.
