Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Sometimes I’ve felt that Calvin is his father as a child and
that Watterson draws himself as the father re-creating his life and childhood , that would make Calvins mom Wattersons wife . I don’t mind being wrong .

Actually, Calvin’s dad is exactly how Watterson remembers his father. Calvin is NOT Watterson’s youthful persona (unfortunately), although he does share some of his thought processes. LOL (look up his interviews online, they are an education in themselves.)

@JohnnyDiego: Wow, your links never disappoint! Looks like the lead guitarist tried for the Devo look. The poker faces were perfect for the music!

Thanks, Johnny. I haven’t heard that since it came out in the 80s but the DJ in my head plays it often. I began to think I was making it up. Good to know I may be crazy, but I’m not mistaken.

How is it that the 7:30 Calvin is smarter than the other two?

When you’re caught in the middle like that, it tends to teach you perspective. Happens to time travelers all the time.

@Alain Harper,
If (since) you have dibs on being the last person to get a cell phone, I’ll have to be the next to last one.

@rpmurray: The 7:30 Calvin just seems smarter, because the other two are suffering from jet lag.

Tell you what. When I finally buy one, I’ll give it to you, buy another for me, and that will take care of both of us. :)
