No April 15th for you, Hobbes…
iowaweav said, 10 months ago
At least we’re on the upswing now. It’s the month of March and first two weeks in April that are killer.

That Calvin, ever the optimist.
Yukoner said, 10 months ago
Now why would Hobbes want to set up an Irish terrorist group?
LX013 said, 10 months ago
IRA is not only a terrorist organisation, it comes from banking! It’s an insurance!
Optimystic said, 10 months ago
@ Yukoner: I believe Hobbes is referring to his Individual Retirement Account, though I’m not sure what he’d be retiring FROM exactly.
DaDaDavid said, 10 months ago
@optimystic: as if being the stuffed tiger of an…overly active boy like Calvin was not a real job!He would have deserved a fair pension, I suppose. But now that the world is ending…
Akenta said, 10 months ago
Yukoner, ignore the others. We know what kind of IRA is needed to help handle Calvin - you saw how he tried to attack Hobbes the other day :-)

Good one Yukoner, they bit.

Calvin’s data sample might be a little small. Maybe he should have Suzie check his work.

How early do you get up margueritem?

Wasn’t this written back when the activists worried about global cooling?

Calvin’s observation sounds a lot like the approach used by the global warming alarmists

I love all of Calvin’s analogies

I noticed the days got short last year after September, too. You’d think they’d have fixed that problem by now.

Especially since its fiaxble.

I mean fixable.

“How early do you get up margueritem?”
Like many of the afficionados of Brooke McEldowney’s Pibgorn, margueritem is in the habit of staying up to catch the new strip(s) at the earliest possible moment. A better question is, “How late do you stay up, margueritem?”

It wouldn’t occur to Calvin that it’s only winter coming. (comic is dated 11-23) No the world’s coming to an end? Doesn’t he remember the same thing happened last year? But that is one thing I hate about winter. It’s getting dark around 4:30 already. I’m glad the days are now getting longer every day even if it’s only by about a minute. Spring’s coming!

Besides, the current banking industry is getting pretty close to being a terrorist organization these days!

Yukoner was being a smart a$$. He knows what an IRA is.

Nor necessarily margueritem, The Yukon territory is in Canada, our equivalent of I.R.A. is R.R.S.P. (Registered Retirement Savings Plan). I saw a joke on one of these strips about something called a 401/k which I’ve sort of vaguely remember hearing that alphanumeric before but I don’t recall what it was in context to, some sort of gov’t thing, I think, so the joke was lost on me.

Easy way to tell a Canadian from an American (male) is to ask him what his favorite hockey team is….if he’s still telling you about it ten minutes later, then he’s Canadian.

LOL, would work for most cases, except for the truly strange Canadians like myself that don’t like hockey….

Aw Hobbes, it’d be wiped out by now.
Calvin knows about IRA’s?
trisha said, 10 months ago
I love all of Calvin and Hobbes analogies :)
Hugh B. Hayve said, 10 months ago
Geez DF, I didn’t know those existed. Be willing to bet, dollars to Timbits, that if someone around you started talking hockey, that you wouldn’t be totally clueless as to what they were discussing.

HUGH: Was once told during a FRI 13th in Port Dover ON that it was a right of passage to be pummeled by Tim Bits. Even helped pay for them. Totally clueless; now have been on the ‘pummelling’ end and truly understand.
