At least we’re on the upswing now. It’s the month of March and first two weeks in April that are killer.

    That Calvin, ever the optimist.

  4. Yukoner

Now why would Hobbes want to set up an Irish terrorist group?

  5. LX013

    LX013 said, 10 months ago

IRA is not only a terrorist organisation, it comes from banking! It’s an insurance!

@ Yukoner: I believe Hobbes is referring to his Individual Retirement Account, though I’m not sure what he’d be retiring FROM exactly.

@optimystic: as if being the stuffed tiger of an…overly active boy like Calvin was not a real job!He would have deserved a fair pension, I suppose. But now that the world is ending…

Yukoner, ignore the others. We know what kind of IRA is needed to help handle Calvin - you saw how he tried to attack Hobbes the other day :-)

Calvin’s data sample might be a little small. Maybe he should have Suzie check his work.

Calvin’s observation sounds a lot like the approach used by the global warming alarmists

I noticed the days got short last year after September, too. You’d think they’d have fixed that problem by now.

“How early do you get up margueritem?”

Like many of the afficionados of Brooke McEldowney’s Pibgorn, margueritem is in the habit of staying up to catch the new strip(s) at the earliest possible moment. A better question is, “How late do you stay up, margueritem?”

  22. Macushlalondra

    MacushlalondraGenius_badge said, 10 months ago

It wouldn’t occur to Calvin that it’s only winter coming. (comic is dated 11-23) No the world’s coming to an end? Doesn’t he remember the same thing happened last year? But that is one thing I hate about winter. It’s getting dark around 4:30 already. I’m glad the days are now getting longer every day even if it’s only by about a minute. Spring’s coming!

Nor necessarily margueritem, The Yukon territory is in Canada, our equivalent of I.R.A. is R.R.S.P. (Registered Retirement Savings Plan). I saw a joke on one of these strips about something called a 401/k which I’ve sort of vaguely remember hearing that alphanumeric before but I don’t recall what it was in context to, some sort of gov’t thing, I think, so the joke was lost on me.

Easy way to tell a Canadian from an American (male) is to ask him what his favorite hockey team is….if he’s still telling you about it ten minutes later, then he’s Canadian.

LOL, would work for most cases, except for the truly strange Canadians like myself that don’t like hockey….
