Don’t worry, apple. If you’re convicted you can always appeal.

You can say you went a bit soft on the stand.

Of course he’s guilty … he’s rotten to the core!
(I’ll save a pedantic poster the trouble of pointing out that the Bible doesn’t really specify which fruit.)

Of course, right off the top, the DA has a point …
you’ll see that he has another when he gets to the bottom of things.

But the apple’s young lawyer could have coached him better… that’s what he gets for by picking one so green.

(Is there any more low-hanging fruit here?)

I could have mentioned, I guess, that the judge looks sweet but he’s not really berry soft.

Hey, this is a legal setting. You HAVE to be pedantic, or at least literal. That’s how you mess with the other side.

I can’t believe Peary Mason is about to have a blemish on his career — and it all stems from rotten apple polishing.

Maybe the judge can be impeached.

Everybody knows that the problem wasn’t the apple in the tree.
It was the pair on the ground.

“My poor client’s fate now depends on your votes.”
Here the pear sat down in his place,
And directed the Judge to refer to his notes
And briefly to sum up the case.

    But the Judge said he never had summed up before;
So the pear undertook it instead,
And summed it so well that it came to far more
Than the Witnesses ever had said!

My sincere apologies to Lewis Carroll.

I’m not sure where everyone gets the idea that an apple was the forbidden fruit. I don’t think the fruit they ate exists anymore in this world.

Most likely it was a fig. The mention of using fig leaves as clothing is a pretty big clue.
