    Back when the Army still had steel helmets, not Kevlar, in basic training they told us NEVER use your helmet for cooking. It removes the temper from the steel.

    Bill Mauldin, one of the greatest WW2 correspondents… Was in front lines with troops in Europe and the pacific… My compatriot.
