Brevity is not only the soul of wit, it's also not your normal comics fare. In the hands of Dan, it is sharply intelligent, amusingly idiosyncratic and often uproariously funny.

He’s a firecracker, that one.
Actually we saw Jazz Hans in this strip before…. fairly recently, in fact…… as strips go.
I don’t really think it was B.D. (Before Dan.)

Actually I always heard “Idol Hans do the Devil’s work” …. or something that sounded like that.
So I guess Hans had better get to it.
(P.S. to PSchearer…..
I can promise you I KNOW how to spell it…. especially as I have one of those in my name, too.
I can’t promise you no typos at 2 AM, which is when I posted to you.)

Das ist ein schweissen schmeltzen! <<Fake German. I am the first generation in my family to grow up speaking English but they never taught me German. I am sorry I did not learn it as a child because it is hard.

@Konrad
I’ve always found it strange that immigrants neglect and even refuse to teach their first-gen American offspring their ethnic language. The reason being that they believe knowing and speaking their birth language is a hindrance to their assimilation,when of course,that’s actually a major benefit in terms of employment anywhere in the world! Not to mention its usefulness in an emergency,when a translator is needed!

@Blackwolff9
That’s true. My cousin’s wife refused to teach their children Japanese.
Think of the $$ they could make as translators.
Nobody never learned me English real good.

Remember, children, always clap your Hans! (In fact, clap him into Devil’s Island………..)
