Not as bad an idea as it was to have him do Star Trek.

what is it with taking someone who does something poorly, then putting them in charge of multiple things?

“Lost in Space” was the best of the bunch, anyway! (Of course, I’d love a movie about REAL science fiction: like Larry Niven writes.)

    Ringworld, maybe?
Or The Mote in God’s eye?(with Jerry Pournelle, I know …)

OMG! The whole point of JJ Abrams directing Star Trek is that he’s not a Star Trek fan! He’s a Star Wars fan!

I agree with you about Larry Niven and real sci-fi. Don’t hold your breath though.

Ever watch the Star Trek cartoons? Several SiFi authors were adapted including Larry Niven.

Yes! Wow, I haven’t thought about those for a while! Those animated stories were quite neat in their own way. I didn’t know that about Niven. Perhaps I’ll try to track those old cartoons down.

The episode entitled ‘The Slaver Weapon was adapted from a Larry Niven story of the same name.
The villains, the Kzin, were used in Star Fleet Battles, a board game put out by Task Force.
I still have the computer version, but they’re called the Murak.

They also sometimes on the most recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles do like a minute parody of Star Trek Animated.
