The rejection of facts, or desire to become truly informed on issues goes WAY beyond our “educational system” that has been far more damaged by NCLB than most any other program.

And you, sir, are the poster boy for those that do not desire to become “truly informed”.

Here is the “official” assessment of the program – yes a republican one passed by a republican congress and signed by a republican president.

    Yep, republicans hate education.

You might look to the teacher’s union to find the core of the problem. Also the lack of parenting in a lot of cases. You cannot teach the unwilling. Kids are not taught respect in the home, in a lot of homes (if they can be called that) there are no books, no magazines.

The republicans aim to destroy public education in order to accomplish several goals, including:
    (1) destroy the teachers unions, which is one of the last two or three major financial groups opposing them,
    (2) appease their business masters, slobbering at the chance to eat into the $1 trillion education pie, and
    (3) create generations of peons who vote as they are told to
    .
Republicans don’t have quality, affordable education as a goal. Why is that?
    .
And why the hell should my tax dollars go to finance private schools? Especially religious schools. Fascinating how Republican councils back off school vouchers when a Muslim school applies for the funds.
