    Actually, the megarich are NOT paying their fair share of taxes for the upkeep of the nation they choose to live in. Their tax rate should be twice what it is now.

    Such a simple pun, yet such a profoundly truthful cartoon. Nice.

    Gorrell is obviously in need of the same vaccine as the House Republican “freshman” and their mentors— protecting them from “Infantile paralysis” caused by worms, not a virus.

    There was a time when I cringed at his lectures – regurgitating 19th century intellectualism as new ideas. Now I cringe at his blatant lies, but worse still, there is hardly anyone in the media calling him out. America’s presidency has been downgraded to 3c-, or as commonly refereed to JUNK.

    All of the no-brain comments about Obama asking for a blank check are stupid and dishonest. Raising the debt ceiling does not permit the President to spend even one dollar more than Congress authorizes. It is CONGRESS’ job to pass a national budget EACH AND EVERY YEAR. The Congressional budget dictates the spending limits, and the only power the President has is to approve or veto the budget. He’s just a lobbyist trying to get Congress to do their job.

    The budget cannot be balanced with cuts alone. There is no math that will do it, other than converting the US into a failed state. It’s idiotic to vote people into office who refuse to do basic math, deny evolution and climate change, and think that their fairy god-father will get them out of this mess. The GOP’s own budget will cause 6 trillion more deficit spending in the next ten years, and they refuse to pay for their last binge. It’s absolutely unbelievable that they are still given any respect by anyone.

    @Bluejayz

    Does this apply to GWB and any other Republican president with a Democratic Congress? Come to think of it, Clinton is given credit for balancing the budget, even producing surpluses . . . . . . .was it Democrats that controlled the Congress then?

    I do understand the division of powers in our government but to contend that the President doesn’t want to spend a lot more of our money is disingenuous at best. Shouldn’t we at least make not of the fact that in order to need a debt ceiling adjustment is the result of having overspent our authorized credit in the first place? When ever Keynesian economics fails, as it often does, the cure is always to spend more money. Might I point out that had we not overspent in the first place then the debt ceiling would not be so important.

    The black thing again. Why don’t you look and see how many whites voted for him. And you talk about talk radio.

    The Rich are multiplying their wealth at dramatic, historic rates, and the rest are sinking. Whenever you say “cut taxes”, I hear “don’t slow down the acceleration of this Great Confiscation”.

    “The corner stone of Demsense. Tax and Spend.”

    The cornerstone of Republisense: Cut taxes, then borrow & spend.

    @Clark Kent

    Wrong again moron. One more time for the idiots on the left.
    .
    The top 1% of the country makes 19% of the money and pays 39% of the taxes..
    .
    The bottom 45% of the country makes 28% of the money and pays ZERO taxes.
    .
    Now, I know that libtards fail at math, but for those unable to follow along, that means that the rich (also known as the ones who create jobs) are paying twice their fair share, and the liberal arts majors are paying nothing…
