    Reminds me a little of the foot-long orange thing they found in the water above a nearby dam a few years ago. Turns out to have been a goldfish. But once put into a much larger fishbowl, to wit, the reservoir above the dam, it became a foot-long orange carp. After all, goldfish are of the carp family; they just usually grow only to the size of their environment. And that’s why that particular goldfish was a foot long.

    This goldfish looks about a foot long. I wonder what she’s been feeding it? That bowl isn’t THAT big.

    And thanks for the info. Never knew that goldfish were orange carp. Is that like orange roughy?
