    Gotta’ be better than the effects of too much “headboard” … although less fun to acquire.

    Congratulations, Grog! Enjoy your vacation. My poor hubby doesn’t get one this year. In May, he took off a week so we could help his parents move. Then, he’s taken 13 days off to take me to the Mayo Clinic. Neither time was much of a vacation, although at least the time at Mayo wasn’t as stressful for him. He didn’t have to be the patient, just the one to push me around in my wheelchair.

    @Knightman

    & R Mom.
    Thanks. I do need some time to unwind a bit. A day here and there just doesn’t cut it. I hope I can get another week before the year’s out though. I certainly have the time accumulated.

    Good Morning, All,

    Did another tomato harvest yesterday. Got lots and lots in the freezer for soups and sauce all year long. Still lots of green tomatoes coming on……..hopefully they’ll ripen before the frost.

    Are you going anywhere, Grog? R&R is really important!

    Sounds like you’ve got a green thumb! This is the 3rd year I’ve tried to grow tomatoes and failed. Drought & too hot temps the first two years. This year, I moved the garden around to where it would only get morning sun. However, it was right where the rain runs off the eaves (no gutters) and with the record rainfalls we had this year, they didn’t thrive. When I looked last weekend, only two of my plants survived, and they weren’t even a foot tall. I got a few green onions out of my garden, but that has been the sum total of my harvest. Of course, with my mobility issues, it was difficult to give my garden close attention. Just trying to decide if I’m going to attempt to garden next year or not. I’d love to grow some sweet corn, so who knows?

    I was thinking about it, but I’ve decided to take care of some chores and hobbies around the house instead.

    On the green tomatoes, wrap them in newspaper and put them in a dark place, they will ripen by themselves.and help you before the frost.
