Dandelions are only really tasty before they flower.

Years ago I was given a bottle of home-made dandelion wine. I’m a big fan of sweet wines, and this was as wonderful as any French Sauterne or German TBA or Eiswein I’ve ever tasted.

Dandelion fed beef steak, batter dipped fried dandelion heads, a green dandelion salad, plus a sweet dandelion wine. Any better offers?

Ben could not be more wrong!

Dandelion flowers can be pressed to make Dandelion wine.

Dandelion leaves are great in salads.

Dandelion roots are starchy, juicy, and can be eaten raw or baked like a potato.

Ben, I would recommend the book “Stalking the Wild Asparagus”, by Euell Gibbons. Good reading about wild foods.
