‘Throws like a girl’ … is that necessarily a bad thing?
I often thought of using a situation where one character tells another, ’Don’t worry, he hits like a girl.’
    Whack!
    ‘Uh… girl gorilla, that is…’

It is the ultimate insult for a nine year old boy. And all too often girls are not taught correctly, don’t use their backs or their legs when throwing. When I was coaching a coed Little League team, I taught girls how to throw. That became a source of intimidation, dispiriting the other teams. Never seemed to be a problem for the boys on my team, however. Coaching secret, having a girl on the team makes the boys behave better, even at nine.

Last time I played softball, it was 6th grade and I hit the ball, but it was really spinning fast. That ball went right up and smacked me in the right eye.

That was the start and end of my softball career.
