    Actually it’s not the dinosaurs that power them, but all that rotting vegetation that they used to eat.

    re: kaspar

    no. I was making a joke, based on several common jokes about this or that acting in some way “but not very well.”

    However, as one who worked in engineering inthe 1990s. I can’t imagine an autoparking function being very effective. Too many variables involved. Software is buggy. Expect many scratched fenders and worse.

    There used to be a natural gas ad around here that went, “Oil is a dinosaur…”

    @cdward

    We had a similar commercial here in the Philadelphia market which said, “Oil heat’s a dinosaur!”

    Hmm, maybe I’m missing something. Did the process of converting plants & amimals into oil Stop when all the dinosaurs died? If that is where oil really comes from… wouldn’t it be an ongoing process? There were after all plants & animals after the dinosaurs, yes there was a mass extintsion, however, there has been millions of years since then. No oil has been created since then? This sounds a little suspect to me.

    Another question…..why is the oil so deep in the ground? Has the Earth grown since the dinos?

    OK, folks, a little science. It was oceanic zooplankton and algae that made oil and gas. It was trees/ferns that made coal during the Pennsylvanian age. Dinosaurs made dinosaur fossils, during the Mesozoic, over a hundred million years later.

    Sometimes I think the new writers are just messing with our heads when it comes to figuring out if this strip is in the past or post-apocalyptic future (Peter visits a “new world” and floats past 20th century trash like styrofoam).
