Baldo is our first comic strip that features Latino characters and themes. Baldo lives with his parents and works at Auto Y Rod, Inc., selling car parts. Through his daily exploits in the world of girls, cars, and little sisters, readers will learn just how well they can identify with this teen. Writer Hector Cantú and artist Carlos Castellanos have given us a comic strip whose warmth and gentle humor will appeal to all.

When I read that, all I can think of is Monty Python!
That’s because a Philadelphia disc jockey, John DeBella, always played Python’s song of the same name right at the stroke of 9:00 AM as he left the air for the day.

Took me a minute. Read your comment first and thought “hmmm theme to Monty Python’s Flying Circus is Souza’s ‘The Liberty Bell’ and the Bell itself is in Philadelphia but what has that to do with Abuela feeling lucky?”—-then I read Madcow’s comment and joined the bright side.

“Always look on the bright side of life” is an old song that Micheal Palin sang while crucified in “The Life of Brian”.

“Life of Brian is a great movie.” If you can look on the bright side of life while being killed by slow and painful torture, you can do it under any soycumstances.

A few years ago someone rode over my bicycle, about 2 seconds after I slid off the end and dropped to the sidewalk when I realized we were going to hit.
