   Gore worked on The Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) that is responsible for building the pre cursor to the internet.

   My dad always gave bad, off the cuff, uninformed advice in a casual but authoritative way. You would do well to do the opposite of what he said.

   Was that a military project? I do believe the whole net emerged from cold war fears of direct strikes on computer complexes.

   It was originally a way for the Pentagon to communicate with its client universities. Congress enabled it to be used by the public under a bill written by Gore and a few others. “invented” was probably not the best word – if indeed that is the one he used, rather than an invention of the corporate media.

   Republicans misspeak, Democrats make scandalous statements, Greens may never be mentioned under any circumstances other than their presidential candidate being arrested for perfectly legal activities, and that only condemned. [Nader in 2000 and Stein in 2012 for trying to attend “presidential” debates); McKinney doesn’t count because she was still a Democratic Representative the first time (by capitol police) and twice after the election in international waters (by Israeli pirates).]
