From the salmon-colored sofa that is the center of the Arlo & Janis universe, this unique and quixotic comic strip has been just about everywhere. From unvarnished human drama to flights of unfettered comic fantasy, from unabashed pathos to unsurpassed observational wit, Arlo & Janis is perhaps the most unpigenholeable comic strip ever. It also invents new words!
The characters Arlo and Janis have played the parts of mermaids, squirrels, alligators and grasshoppers over the years, all while exploring the unexaggerated human condition and managing to become, with their son Gene, perhaps the most believable family in the funny pages. This unique approach has garnered Arlo & Janis an intelligent and engaged readership and guaranteed that a percentage of it will be confused at any given moment. However, readers eagerly return every day for another quaff from what has been the holy grail for a generation of comic-strip authors: quintessential Boomer humor.

The funny thing is my hubby came up to me last night and asked me if I would be interested in buying a larger boat to travel between islands. I wondered if he was reading this :D

I had a friend with a sail boat who was obsessive about going dock to dock without using the motor. It could be quite challenging.

This boat thing is unreal, On the outside, she’s small. Down below, she commodious, with plenty of room for thst salmon colored couch. Duh?

He really wants to unload that hole in the water you pour money into.

Does Gus have Arlo? Hook (no dock fee), line (water, electricity, free coffee, showers), or sinker (pay for the diesel fuel)??

@George Alexander
Maybe it’s a TARDIS.

Go for it, Arlo!

Displacement hulls use very little fuel so that won’t cost much if he never raises a sail. Of course they go slow, but maybe that’s the idea.

DOes this guy need the money to keep the restaurant going? I really don’t get it.

It sounds like the only thing Gus wants out of it is free fuel. Of course he could convert the engine and use the used oil from the deep fryer. I knew someone in Iowa that did that for his farm vehicles.

@George Alexander
it’s a sailing Tardis!

I was thinking the same thing. Diesel invented his engine to run on peanut oil in the first place. Free docking, free water and electric and use the frying oil sounds like a deal too good to pass up.
Dave53 said, 11 months ago
Gus is trying to sweeten the deal, but we don’t know what the bottom-line is yet.
