And we still don’t know who the old codger was, any more than who Xaxos himself is. I suspect the two are related somehow and are from an old story written by Leonard Starr. I wish Little Red Dress, or some other real expert on Little Orphan Annie, were here to help us out some.

I wish we’d get some collections of the Starr material – as well as Maeder and Kupperberg’s (in print form!) – I have the first, slim volume (all published?) of Starr’s strips, and really enjoyed them. I wonder if Library of American Comics will press forward when (if ever) they reach the end of Harold Gray’s long tenure?

I love the use of the word “Rogues”. Such a descriptive word that is mostly out of use today.
