Wait until Andy finds out what calamari really is. First time I had any was in Taipei, Taiwan. It wasn’t good,IMO. It was tough and rubbery. The more I chewed the longer it lasted. I think they gave me rubber bands. What did I know, I was just a 19 yr old Marine trying to be cool.

Poor Helen Amy’s great grandma is being kept in the re-hab section till she can find a private nursing home, but the trouble is that homes only accept persons wh don’t need much nursing care

A work colleague came into the staff room yesterday holding a snail. He announced he found it in his locker.

The room was packed so I took great delight in shouting “I’m surprised you caught it!”

Gosh, there aren’t any skilled nursing facilities? Or is it that they are all full? We have many, but the best ones have waiting lists. Or by private nursing home, do you mean an actual private home that accepts one or two patients into their private residence?

I’ve only had it a couple of times. I thought it tough and rubbery too. Tasted kind of how one would expect judging from the looks of an octopus. Not interested in trying a third time. Never done escargot. Do love me a nice crawdad salad though!

Escargot, cooked in a garlic butter sauce, has a texture like beef tips and tastes really good. Place in Atlanta puts them in a small ironstone cup and finishes them with a biscuit type topping over the opening of the cup. Was really good. Another place was ok but didn’t come up to the standard of the first. Sounds like sex doesn’t it.

Well prepared calamari, or squid if you will, is not tough or rubbery. If it is, it is simply overcooked. Octopus is delicious too!
