    Good Morning, AO Readers!

    Uh Oh . . .

Looks like Ooola should have been more careful of what she asked for, if you catch my drift!

Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 20 “The Coup in Moo Falls Mainly on Oop”(112) 12/7/2013 Saturday

Wizer had made sure to find a firebrand, a fire breathing creature, fortunately Wizer from before his merging with the Other, had one. Why he had the rare creature hidden away was for no good.

Now it is at the center of their cluster lighting arrows as they go. Also torches too, more for keeping the night crawlers and other night hunters away than for seeing in the dark.

At once another nerve rattling gurgle-scream from one of those xooloo spiders then one comes sailing through the air. It immediately bursts into flames from the firebrand shooting a steady stream of fire at it. In the mean time two of the forward riders on flare shield and horned dinos rear them up block and bounce it away to roll back at the ugly things whimpering. The others immediately scatter to stay away from one of their own wilting members glowing as embers fly off it.
This does not go unnoticed by the group.

Wizer through the Other, can “hear” Wootietoot’s cries of lament at another one of her precious “children” dies in agony. Another bright point snuffed out of the skein of the mental field that they generate and she controls.

    Morning, Oopsters.
I’ve always liked the use of the word “meanwhile” in the Alley Oop stories. Hamlin started this convention himself. It shows that the time relationship between the time lab and Moo is linear. If two weeks have passed for Oop, two weeks have likewise passed for Ooola. It avoids the time paradox problem.

It’s inconvenient to turn my computer sideways to see the last panel.

No problem. Doc can revise her and inspire Shelly to write The Bride of Frankenstein.

Yes, it is. Fortunately God gave us an imagination, and a neck, the judicious use of which resolves the inconvenience issue.
I prefer to use the imagination, since it opens up all sorts of other possibilities, but the neck works pretty good too.
    Shake a leg, Oop!

Well, well! A “cliffhanger” on a Saturday…complete with a cliff! When’s the last time the Benders did that? Or did they ever?

(Continuing): Could there be a glimmer of hope that the Benders have developed some good story writing ability? [Yeah, I know…I’m not holding my breath, either…;-) ]

No, this is how they write. Been that way since they fully took over this strip. Don’t expect blood from a turnip[ or Water from a granite stone. The same for the Benders, it isn’t in their make up or performance.
