    Good Morning, People.

I hope Mary doesn’t regret her decision.

    At least, she’ll be inspired.

I hope she’s all right. I wonder if Alley
will have to rescue her. Maybe this is
    how they’ll meet?
In the film, “Back To The Future”, this
is how the professor met his lady…he
saved her from a runaway horse buggy, she
was headed for a canyon, when he saved

Not proven yet-they have not copied the words
and the idea is yet to be established. Many many
stories have been done in time travel, etc…let’s
enjoy the ride, see where this buggy goes…. :)

    Morning, Oopsters.
I would hesitate to call this plagiarism. The idea of having a romance in a time travel adventure has been done many times in science fiction, assuming of course, that’s what’s going to happen.

Alley has met and or helped many a lady in his travels without falling in love. They usually remind him of his girl back home.

Just why does she think that she has to catch up with them?

She wants to ride in the Delorean.

Why does she think to catch up with them? Easy, she’s beginning to believe that life comes from lightning as was discussed in a previous strip. Does this inspire the Frankenstein novel? Let’s see how they authors drags this story line out. I still wonder about Guz and how he’s getting along with the Moo’s Constitution.

At least Mary has an umbrella (parasol?) with wooden ribs; a modern one would be just like a lightening rod!

Now we know why this thread is running at this particular time. It would appear the Benders are Mary Shelley fans.

Good Morning Benders, John Wooley, And readers of Alley
Oop. Mary isn’t really dressed for climbing the mountain.
To get to a spot 700 feet up the mountain on a good day,
she could climb up carefully the slope of the mountain.
On a rainy inclement day she must take the meandering
path that goes up the mountain slowly and may take 2-3 hours to reach the flat area on the side of the mountain.
OF course the danger is the sides of the mountain could
be weakened by the continual rain and a slide could happen, necessitating Alley’s help to rescue her.

Somehow I don’t think Oop is going to have a romance with a married woman.

    @Pelerin Galimatias

Yes, it makes a lot of sense. A teenage girl sees a couple of strange guys (that for a moment she thought could have been resurrected from the dead) on a mountain and decides that she has to chase after them. Yes, quite believable.

Still carrying the umbrella in such a way that it offers no protection from the rain. Not concerned that the metal undercarriage might cause her to be tagged by the unending lightening storm. Dressed with her arms bare while our heroes are in parkas.

My wife grew up on a small island with a 6,700 ft. mountain right in the middle of it. Nobody takes a walk on it at night for the simple reason that you can’t see where you are going. Carole makes the mistake here of not realizing that in a pre-electrical age, people didn’t move about in the dark without a lantern or torch. When it was dark, it was you can’t see in front of your face dark. Oop and Boom carrying flashlights to see would make sense but they would have the same problem as anybody else without flashlight. (and no, the electrical storm wouldn’t suffice – it would be just another excuse to stay inside).
