    Hoo, baby!

Doowee is letting Guz and Wizer air their grievances?

    This ought to be good!

Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 18 “The Everlasting Man-thing”(58) 5/9/2013 Thursday

    Panel One

Everyone on the ground heard and some saw the destruction of the USAF F-22 and the strange wing-craft that did it from a hovering position. (Many cameras were used by people with cell phones and iPadds.) Then it moved on less like an air plane inland over the forested part of the island and more like a lighter than air craft with slowly flapping wings. One of the strangest sights to be seen that day. The SR-91 reported it too with pictures and digital camera and recordings.

    Panel Two

    “We’ve got problems,” Alley said.
“A COTU craft is on its way here in less than an hour.” Jinx said again.
“We may not survive it. WE only have our stunners.” Corinne added.

    Panel Three

“Don’t forget, we have our brains too.” Alley told them pointing to his short haired cube looking head. Grinning at them. They both smiled in return.

Of course Guz is allowing. Lawyers have their ‘ways’. If you don’t kill them all they bring any society to a grinding halt. Or at least slow it down to a crawl. And you can’t kill them all.

Testimony? Is there one, even one, altruistic and also impartial lawyer in the world? Sure many are altruistic, even humanitarians. But also unbiased and evenhanded enough to appreciate opposing viewpoints? Just one lawyer like that? I don’t think so!!!

So does this prove that lawyers are in fact the world’s oldest profession?

I think Guz will throw Doowee into the pit. That way, he can spend all the time he wants to with his “client” ….

There must be a law in Moo that says you can impale attorneys on a spear…or several spears. Guz should create that law now. Next story, please.

“Visit about him”? What language is that?

Yes, as an attorney, I really do often come to feel that “due process of law” is Swahili to most in the public (let alone our legislators and law enforcement personnel.)

I think he was supposed to say “TALK about him”.

“We can visit about him on the way.” ????
Is this a phrase used somewhere in America? Almost sounds like english translated from another language.

Actually, lawyers do appreciate opposing viewpoints – - – just one at a time.

It is complex indeed. Yet one of the first things I had learned in law school was that a lawyer’s concern was not so much about justice, fairness, et al but to win his/her client’s case. Not that I like that sentiment, but that’s how it is.

GOD willing, one day I, too, will pass the bar exam.

Actually, according to Shakespeare, killing all the lawyers would bring about anarchy — in other words THAT is what would “bring any society to a grinding halt,” because they were considered the last bastion of law and order. Killing all the lawyers was the first step in a master plan to overthrow the monarchy, as the context of Shakespeare’s famous (and infamously misquoted) line about killing all the lawyers clearly demonstrates!
