Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 15 “House of the Worm”(112) 11/22/2012
Panel One
“Oh my god” said Dr. Tucker agape. Reminds him of the Sunnydale Hellmouth. The yawning large hole before them with the scintillating almost-colors in the miasmic vapor rising from it. Like some kind of steam pit.
Panel Two
For the first time they hear some kind of reverberation coming from the greasy hole. Almost like speech when it is slowed down to a low frequency. They feel a moist heat now coming from it. The center of the gelatinous mass quivvered as if attuned to the “voice” as it spoke too difficult to understand if it is in English or antique Dutch.
Panel Three
“This doesn’t look good.” The Baroness says with an almost quiet satisfaction. (Was her dead Occult Grandmaster grand father influencing her there yet again without her knowledge?)
Panel Four
“We will need to get this thing to come out of its burrow,” said Dr. Tucker as a strange wind started to blow from it.
Why would Ava question about the Maya time trip? It’s not like she knows nothing about the whole Wonmug time travel setup and adventures Oop and Ooola have been on…
And here comes Black Friday starting on Thursday afternoon, do the girls have thier credit cards ready? Will the time travel remote re appear, if the time travel machines are turned off or controlled by the government why did the remote work?
@Night-Gaunt49 – Good question @Frank Farkel – Good question Now my question – How does Alley’s response to Ava answer her question? It’s like, “Why are all the apple orchards in the world contaminated?” – “Because I had oranges for breakfast this morning.” It makes about as much sense.
What is the “transport spot” that they keep talking about? In Hamlin’s Alley Oop, the time machine whisked Oop and friends to the 20th century from wherever they happened to be. There was no designated spot for “lift-off”.
And where did the camera-like device in 600 AD come from and why hasn’t it been explained? There was a similar looking device in the very first time travel story in ‘39 but that’s all it was – a camera that Einmug sent back to take pictures to prove his time machine worked and to see what life was like in the past.
A better writer than Carole Bender would have said something like, “We’re sure because a Mayan warrior showed up in Moo”. Come to think if it, though, a better writer would be writing a story that made some sense,
