Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 15 “House of the Worm”(71) 10/12/12
Panel One
The Outsider for the first time felt a bit of fright. Not since he first emerged and frightened a gay party with his decayed visage then later saw his reflection in a mirror. He did not want to repeat it. The creatures he went with did not care for they too would not be countenanced by humans who would find them all monstrosities to be routed out by fire and curses and blessings. Very few had seen him at all. The few who did were either people with the sight but did not have the training to follow it to its conclusion, or masters of sorcery who were well aware of such beings as himself. Twisted toad, demon, demigod, and elemental and litch all were understood to exist within the areas of the world most humans were unaware or kept as myths. These educated ones understood our place in this world and others. Now he found two together with others trained in finding them out. Armed with weapons that could actually hurt or even destroy him! What to do now?
Panel Two
Alley could sense not just that the strange living-dead creature was lingering but may actually be afraid. And mindless monsters are never afraid. He may be able to communicate with this person if they so will. But how? He hasn’t done so since the Selenite courier had a vital message for the King of the Moon he had to get and give from the dead alien. Though on the moon he was the alien then.
Panel Three
The Baroness tells Dr. Tucker of her uneasiness. He calms her by telling her that once the device is assembled and functioning they will all find out the truth of the House of the Worm and then eradicate the ectoplasmic parasite once and for all!
I would like to respectfully thank Jack and Carole Bender for a lifetime of work on Alley Oop. It is appreciated. I have enjoyed it for years. You could choose to retire, easily. Thank you for your work. I know as we age, our bodies tire and it would be easier to quit. God bless you.
Oh, please! Ooola is acting as if Ikan has given her the treasures of Solomon. As many times as she has been shopping in grocery stores in the 20th and 21st centuries, I’m sure she knows how she can get something as simple as chocolate.
Alley Oop is the classic caveman comic strip revolving around the irrepressible Alley Oop, who travels from prehistoric Moo all the way to the 21st century in his friend Doc Wonmug's time machine.
