Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 14 “Dark Trail of Doom”(46) 7/27/12
Panel One
Iron Palm and his disguised hulking men are coming to where Oscar and Chet are in the heart of the “Vault.” Alley Oop just made it in and shut the front door from roving zombie-velociraptors. Dennie (DNE Bolo) is cleaning up out side using heavier weapons to blow that now horribly burned mammoth into a twitching, moaning chunks with shedding burnt pieces. NCIS agent Nobu McCarthy is in the cramped toilet (in the vault) when “Capitan Lee” shows up.
Panel Two
Nobu comes into the inner vault and sees the captain and his men. She shouts to Chet, “They are resurrected, shoot, shoot!” She raises her M-16 to fire.
Panel Three
Alley had smelled the same scent of Iron Palm as he had from that walking stick left behind at that museum robbery and started to run trying to recall the exact way to the middle of it.
Yeah, ask Ooola. She’ll say let’s go back to Moo. They’ll go back to Moo and this little diversion will be left hanging, and we’ll move on to another dead end. Jeez!
Good morning Benders and all! I love the way that Alley Oop argues with Yochi! Nobody can talk down this caveman! And Ooola is about to let both of them know what she thinks! Just look out. Keep up the good work, Benders. I can hardly wait to see how this argument plays out.
Having read the Benders they are in a rut and they follow it. Ooola will not run over to be behind Alley as she should. The formally angry will dissipate like water in a desert and get chummy real fast. Too fast and too often.
Folks, there are MILLIONS of Americans who’ve never had the opportunity to read original V.T. Hamlin strips of Alley Oop or those of his handpicked successor Dave Graue. It’s a shame we have to depend on the Bender strip, when the folks behind the Oop strip could reprint those old Oop strips that started in the 30’s and have NEVER been seen by current readers of the strips. Far more interesting and exciting—those old Oop strips had far more imagination, action, and scripts involved. BRINGBACKTHEHAMLIN/GRAUESTRIPS, RE-INVENTALLEYOOPWITHTHEREALALLEYOOP.

Alley, just take your axe and smash the abductor. Obviously, he’s still holding Ooola’s arm and preventing her from moving! Smash his head in!
