Some like religion as long as it is convenient for them like Trout – until she gets an Ipod.

And that is the truth! Had a woman tell me she’d come to the mid-week service, but didn’t want to “waste her weekends on church”.

Yes and that was the humor of it.

I’m reminded of President Jefferson writing in favor of democracy and that we should impose it on other nations by force if necessary. Several later presidents also thought it a good idea. They were wrong but well intentioned.

Luddites have limits no what technology they like. Remember it was the mechanical looms that were putting them out of business. Millions have lost their jobs through automation. And unless we have a drastic drop in population we are going to have to pay those people idle wages so that our economy can still function.

Charles S… you also have to look at the sites before asking that question.

Very hard to determine their content or tone by reading the URL.

It wasn’t the prgress that the Luddites objected to, it was the lost of jobs, the low wages and I think more importantly – the lost of skills. Why know how to weave when a machine could mass produce what took you hours, days or weeks to complete.
