Religious tolerance is a concept practiced by few religions.

Rather natural, after all – the other religions are competitors. ;)

    Bart: “What religion are you?”
Homer: “You know, the one with all the well-meaning rules that don’t work out in real life. Uh…Christianity.”

You’re right. What’s personal observation and experience, after all, compared to being taught by an authority who was taught by an authority who was taught by an authority who was taught by an authority who was taught by an authority who was taught by an authority who was taught by someone who made stuff up out of whole cloth?

I thought Agnes didn’t really have a religion. She doesn’t respect the church she has to attend.

That makes her no different from a large number of churchgoers, doesn’t it? Identifying yourself with a particular religion doesn’t mean you actually follow its teachings, it just means you’ve picked a team to root for.

Which one? Judaism, Christianity, Islam or Hinduism? There are others that don’t hurt people.

    Quite often quite true.

Yet strangely even they refuse to accept the equality of those other religions which believe in killing them.
    Go figure.

Not only that but if they truly believe, they believe the other religions are diverting others from the only true path of salvation and eternal peace. What’s a little force, war, pain and torture now if it insures billions of years of happiness afterward?
    -
Just look at it on a balance and you will see they are logically justified as long as they accept the initial premise, whatever it is.
