Tony Cochran’s Agnes is a whimsical look at childhood through the eyes of the title character and her best friend, Trout. What sets this strip apart is the focus on that limbo just before little girls discover boys and appropriate social skills.

I wonder if those “power lifters” get hernias.

I would imagine not— they know the techniques. We on the other hand don’t and probably would. But lifters do wear that sort of cincher on the lower back.

A few grunts are a good thing.
Showmanship.

Methinks Agnes more likely to grunt out the other end.

Knowing how to lift and the help of well muscled backs also help with back support.

Canadian Christine Girard lifted 236 kilograms at the 2012 London Olympics to get Bronze. The Russian lady that got Silver, lifted 237 kilograms. Gold was a woman from Kazakhstan who lifted 245 kilos. That’s 522.50 to 540 pounds. I think Girard is around 5 foot 4.

Probably not “with hardly any grunting or vein distention.” LOL
