Tony Cochran’s Agnes is a whimsical look at childhood through the eyes of the title character and her best friend, Trout. What sets this strip apart is the focus on that limbo just before little girls discover boys and appropriate social skills.

Yeah, that will help – ignore it long enough and the School will go away!

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, RETASK
-
Obviously a practicing Democrat like me. notice how she reduces her carbon footprint by using things which have already stepped on the Earth in their manufacture.
-
WHAT A WOMAN!
-
Doubtless Vice President Gore is hoping to win her hand as his latest soul mate.
-
Hmmm, wait a minute. She’s also something of a fiscal conservative, what with not wasting money on frivolous things. That would make her one of the bad guys, I mean Republicans…. Unless she’s an Independent.
-
Best not to alienate her in case her vote is still up for grabs.
-
(Do you ever wonder if some political operatives actually think this way?)

They live in the red. I’d say the upper levels of the lowest 20%. Or maybe less. Hard to tell but no computer, haven’t even seen a phone.
I live in the Gulag State of Texas myself Tigre 1 at least in Harris county we have a gold card system so I do get medical coverage. The draw back is that I have to reup to it every year.

First the way things are aren’t in black and white even among Republicans. Second, the way to go is to find those who have some tangential agreement with us on some things to build bridges.

Most people couldn’t educate themselves out of a paper bag at a garage sale.

What does shopping at garage sales have to do with the politics of one’s state?
Back to school: 3-ring binders, clothing, a backpack, some shoes….
many people have to buy these things used, or would be better off, as would the planet, if they did.
It would be nice if Agnes could get a few little things new…. some cute pencils, some spiral notebooks …. paper has to be new, of course…. a lunchbox if last year’s is worn out or stained.
But otherwise why waste what’s already here on the planet….or even in your old desk drawers.

I bet Agnes uses whatever is left of what she had for the previous year first.

Salvation Army & Staples are doing a backpack to school ….. proper sized backpacks filled with school supplies for the kids that can’t afford supplies AND all the extra fees schools are now charging.

“They live in the red. I’d say”

One of the fascinating things about reporting and commenting lies in the fact that a state can go 50.1% one way politically and another state can go 50.2% the other way and the geniuses will declare one of them a red state and the other a blue state.
-
They’re mighty close to undecided.
-
Further, the thing which makes no sense to me is the idea that politically conservatives are called reds, when historically the Communists were called Reds and idiologically, the other sides are more similar.
-
Agnes could figure it out but I can’t.
