Meant for humans, but who doesn’t spoil their dog every now and again?

HOMEMADE SAUSAGE MIX (Makes about 24 patties)

    4 1/2 lbs minced pork
    1/4 lb minced fat bacon
    1 tbs sage or thyme
    2 tsp savory
    2 tsp dry mustard
    5 tsp salt
    1 tbs ground black pepper

Blend the ground pork and bacon very thoroughly with the remaining ingredients.
Using a floured board or one dusted with corn meal, form mixture into 2 or 3 rolls.
Wrap each in foil or cheese cloth and store in refrigerator.
This sausage meat will keep for 1 1/2 to 2 weeks.
TO COOK: Slice and pan fry.

I have to spell d-o-g p-a-r-k around my two, or they’ll freak out until we actually go to the d-o-g p-a-r-k.

Yeah, we have to do that for walk and car ride too. And you can’t even say car or ride or even ‘go’, ‘cause he’s figured those out too. He doesn’t know which go he’s going, but he doesn’t care! ;)

Any child or animal that learns that certain sounds (or combinations of sounds) are associated with unpleasant events can learn to associate either an actual word or a spelling with that event, if heard often enough. It doesn’t require an understanding of what spelling is; just that “b-a-t-h” has the same association as that shorter sound does.

My dog used to go nuts over the word “ride”. Now he goes nuts over r-i-d-e.

All I had to say to get my two English Cocker Spaniels to come running was, “Who wants…….?”
