Still easier than giving a cat a bath. I gave up on that a long time ago. I’m happy, the cats are happy, works out fine.

my ex-girlfriend’s cat loved water. Couldn’t keep her out of the tub when taking a shower or a bath.

My cat used to walk along the edge of the tub while I bathed … until she slipped and fell in. In a panic, she clawed her way out, right up my arm! I had a dozen little puncture wounds which hurt like h**l, plus I had to chase her down and blow dry her so she wouldn’t get everything wet or get sick. That was the last time I let her in the bathroom when I was bathing.

Hasn’t anybody ever thought of getting in the bath with the dog?

My dog is easy. Doesn’t hide – just stands there and shivers till it’s over.

I used to have to get into the tub with our black lab. We’d brush her thoroughly before her bath, but my hands, feet, and the tub walls would be covered with dog hair. I’d dry her off before I opened the shower door, and then she’d shake all over the bath room, but she would always wait until she was in the dining room to roll around. (We do have carpet in the bathroom.)

Yep, I know about the dog fur! ;) Plus my dog sheds a lot when he’s nervous. He hates and is scared of the bath, but I did manage to teach him how to shake off. I close the shower door first though! ;) It’s funny how he doesn’t like the bath, but when he’s done he feels great and gets the zoomies after he’s let loose. :D

I mentioned it because the dog would feel that the “alpha” was undergoing the same treatment and wouldn’t be so worried about it. I never needed to do it but would have been prepared to, if necessary.

I always bathed the dogs just after they’d been trimmed and brushed. Maybe someone has invented a wet / dry dog vacuum cleaner.
