No need to apologize/justify for loving any kind of book.
LOL THough I am not a teacher anymore and my kid is almost a teen I buy kids books too… I see she is buying the Giving tree !
If you can’t buy your own children’s books what’s the point of being a grownup
Good stories never get older.
(I think they bought it)
There are also picture books for adults as well as children. I particularly recommend the books by Arthur Geisert, my favorite is Oops. Mr Geisert is a printmaker as well as a story teller who creates, prints and colors all the plates for each book. His most extraordinary book is Thunderstorm which forms one continuous illustration of the path of that common Midwestern summer event as it travels across a rural landscape.
Most picture books, though usually less than 40 pages long, contain better writing, and more cohesive and imaginative story-telling than many of the titles on the current adult best-seller list. The gorgeous, lush illustrations are just the icing on the cake.
Let he who does not read the daily comics cast the first literary aspersion.
no shame there they are fun to read
Best bednight reading. I love my comic and picture books before I turn off the light to sleep. Doesn’t matter how many times I’ve read them!
And I don’t know nothing ’bout any cartoons or comix.
I understand! I too refuse to grow up!
I bought books for my kids and buy them now for grandchildren, but I always read them first.
