No need to apologize/justify for loving any kind of book.

If you can’t buy your own children’s books what’s the point of being a grownup

There are also picture books for adults as well as children. I particularly recommend the books by Arthur Geisert, my favorite is Oops. Mr Geisert is a printmaker as well as a story teller who creates, prints and colors all the plates for each book. His most extraordinary book is Thunderstorm which forms one continuous illustration of the path of that common Midwestern summer event as it travels across a rural landscape.

Most picture books, though usually less than 40 pages long, contain better writing, and more cohesive and imaginative story-telling than many of the titles on the current adult best-seller list. The gorgeous, lush illustrations are just the icing on the cake.

Best bednight reading. I love my comic and picture books before I turn off the light to sleep. Doesn’t matter how many times I’ve read them!
