I remember my first trip to NC Outer Banks. It was a cloudy, chilly, windy day in October. Not another person on the whole beach as far as I could see in either direction.
Oy! We went to the Outter Banks and it was like this! We wore jackets, very windy, but picked shells with the kids! We had rented a huge house right on the Ocean, dunes, etc!
Some of my fondest memories are of walking the dog along the Ocean Isle Beach shoreline in Shallote, NC with my wife in the winter. The gulls swooping down low to tease our dog giving her a good workout while we would stroll along sipping our coffees under gray skies. The bonus of course was that there was hardly another soul in site. I still make a winter trip out there every few years to visit family and remember my sweetie.
Had to go on a business trip to Virginia Beach for a few days in March. The weather was just like this comic. I was all bundled up and freezing, but walked down to the beach since it was so close by. There was a group of people, in swimsuits, playing in the water out there! Found out that they were Canadians. Sure were more hardy than me!

Off-season can be quite bracing/refreshing, with the proper clothes on. Just google Skegness Fisherman for an example.

Looks like the Oregon coast during most of the year.

The other two might storm off.

A good day to throw bread up into the air for the seagulls.

I prefer the winter beach in the north. In the south, it matters less.

Hmmm…, “Off Season”, here, in SoCal, is after Labor Day. That’s two of the best beach months (Sept & Oct), period.

Spring Break in Oregon

I used to go to a nude beach on foggy days. I would get gray all over after the wind abraded away what little tan I did have. :)

This is far too realistic this year. In California, no less!!!
