    Walter Cronkite was named in an opinion poll as “the most trusted man in America”. Cronkite was a Liberal.

    For younger readers who may not know who Walter Cronkite was, he was the anchor for CBS News for many years. This strip likely refers to his coverage of the Moon landing in 1969 that much of the world watched live on TV. For most of us back then, he was the one who reported Neil Armstrong’s first step on the Lunar surface which may well be the most historic event ever televised live.
