I’ll say it again, we need an independent, non-partisan, nationally elected Attorney General, a 4th branch of government, whose sole power, purview and authority revolves around policing the other three branches. No governing power, not even in the line of succession. Simply to make sure that everyone else stays within the lines.
“What’s wrong, Mr. President? You’re afraid to charge the former president with war crimes? That’s ok, the AG will do it.”
Yeah, I know, the president needs an AG, just like every commander in the military has one. To advise him how to make lawful decisions. But Trump’s AG does nothing but tell him how to violate the law “legally”. So let’s let him have one.
But We, the People need one as well. And the president’s “boi” just isn’t doing the job. And neither is the president’s senate (lower case intentional).
It is time we demand our lawmakers police themselves. Otherwise our only option will be to take matters into our own hands. Let us hope that democracy, justice and common sense prevail in Georgia tonight and that our votes continue to matter.
